Why the change?
Professional capability is developed through practice. Some capabilities are best built through sustained work rather than a single project or assessment.
Industry Practice gives students ongoing opportunities to apply their learning, take on responsibility, respond to feedback and develop through company work before they graduate.
What it offers
Section titled “What it offers”01 — Learn through company experience
Section titled “01 — Learn through company experience”Understand how organisations operate by contributing within a student-run company with its own leadership, projects, clients and responsibilities.
02 — Demonstrate what you can do
Section titled “02 — Demonstrate what you can do”You are assessed on what you can demonstrably do, week by week, in the role you hold. Completed tasks are signed off as you go rather than judged once at the end of a semester.
03 — Graduate with evidence
Section titled “03 — Graduate with evidence”Develop a professional portfolio containing examples of your work, contributions and capabilities, which you can use to support employment applications and professional conversations.
What stays the same
Section titled “What stays the same”Your degree, credit and academic standards stay the same. Industry Practice replaces the unit load it corresponds to — it is not additional work on top of your existing enrolment, and it does not change what your qualification is worth.
