Verisentry
Fraud intelligence and cyber defence for the financial sector
Our vision
To create a financial system where suspicious activity leaves nowhere to hide — empowering every bank to trace threats quickly, act decisively, and protect every transaction with confidence.
Our mission
We build fraud detection, investigation and compliance tooling for Australian banks — designed, built and run by students under the guidance of industry and academic directors.
Company strategy
Our strategy for 2027 is to look at the issues that surround financial services—in particular around Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), fraud, and spam detection Operating as a student-led enterprise within the Finance & Fintech sector of the Monash IT Industry Practice Program, Verisentry builds fraud detection, investigation, and compliance tooling for Australian banks under the guidance of academic and industry directos. Sttrategic governance is provided by a board comprising Prof. Shonali Krishnaswamy (Monash AI Institute), Tim Hogarth (ANZ), and Lead Mentor Peter Brown. To achieve its vision, Verisentry's core projects will focus on delivering a working, investigator-ready transaction-monitoring platform through a single end-to-end data pipeline rather than pursuing separate, short-term projects. Students will collaborate across the entire software lifecycle: data engineers prepare transaction feeds, fraud intelligence teams train anomaly-detection models, backend and frontend developers integrate these models into alert queues and investigator dashboards, and platform engineers maintain security and system availability.
