About our project and product

Naarm Textile Collective (NTC) is a Melbourne-based arts organisation led by textile artist Tamara Russell, dedicated to celebrating, connecting, and empowering textile artists across Victoria. 🌿 NTC plays a key role in nurturing Australia’s vibrant textile arts community through exhibitions, workshops, and collaborative events, encouraging both emerging and established artists to share their craft and ideas.

Currently, NTC’s digital presence is spread across Facebook, Instagram, and its website (naarmtextile.com). Our project focussed on transforming this scattered digital experience into a cohesive, modern, and intuitive online space. By consolidating communication, collaboration, and promotion into a single platform, the new NTC website empowers members to connect, create, and grow together – all without depending on social media platforms.

Our team has developed a professional and artist-centric platform that offers:
– Member-only forums for announcements, discussions, and networking.
– Artist directories featuring professional profiles, bios, and portfolios.
– Exhibition and event listings with visuals, details, and registration links.
– Membership registration and secure payment system to streamline onboarding.

The Vision: The platform will make it easier for artists to connect, collaborate, and exhibit, while also enhancing the organisation’s digital identity. By combining functionality with creativity, the project aimed to strengthen community ties and support the long-term growth of textile art in Victoria.
