About our project and product
Vis-CAT is an Australian health-tech initiative founded by Dr. Christine Nearchou, an optometrist passionate about early detection of visual cognition issues in children aged 5–12. The platform transforms traditional screening into a fun, game-based digital assessment, helping educators and parents identify potential learning barriers before the child’s development is impacted.
The developed project focuses on enhancing Vis-CAT’s diagnostic system through two key innovations: an algorithm that automatically produces clinically valid test patterns for the game-based assessment, and a researcher dashboard that visualises test results, patterns, and interaction statistics.Together, these developments bring Vis-CAT one step closer to its mission: empowering schools, clinics, and parents across Australia to detect and address visual cognitive challenges early, supporting children’s confidence and learning success.
