About our project

Our Auslan Learning Assistant is an inclusive digital platform designed to help children, teenagers and families learn Australian Sign Language (Auslan). Users can search for signs, watch instructional videos, read simple descriptions and track the signs they have learned. The platform also aims to provide personalised learning recommendations based on each user’s learning progress. In future iterations, AI-powered gesture recognition will help learners practise Auslan by checking whether their hand gestures are performed correctly. The project aims to make Auslan learning more accessible, engaging and supportive for both Deaf and hearing users.
