Circular Economy Waste
About our project
TreeCycle is a data‑driven urban‑forest planning system that helps Melbourne prepare for large upcoming waves of aging‑tree removals. It transforms open tree, canopy and green‑waste datasets into forecasts of remaining tree life, waste generation and cluster‑level recycling opportunities. By analysing DBH, species and age data—“TreeCycle combines tree age, DBH and species information with allometric reference data to estimate remaining life and future green waste.” —the platform supports circular actions like mulch and biochar, heat‑map insights, and long‑term canopy resilience for planners and communities.
