About our project

SOSpeak is a multilingual website that helps people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities speak up in Australian healthcare and emergency situations. For those with limited English — often older adults — a medical moment can be frightening and isolating. SOSpeak offers one-tap emergency help, verified phrases in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese and Italian, a guided body-chart to describe symptoms, nearby hospitals and interpngual summaries staff can read. Built accessibility-first with large text, high contrast and read-aloud audio, it first so no one goes unheard when it matters most.
