Inclusive Design and accessibility
About our project
SignCue is an accessible web application designed to support communication between healthcare staff and Auslan-using Deaf patients. It presents reviewed staff recommendations in Simple English, highlights supported words, and provides verified word-level Auslan videos or trusted external resources without replacing the complete message. Patients can confirm, reject, or use alternative response methods, including manual input and interpreter assistance. The platform prioritises keyboard and mobile accessibility, transparent content verification, safe fallbacks, and responsible use of AI-based sign recognition.
All this content was created by Monash University students as part of their final year study and assessment. If any material appears online that you believe is unauthorised, please contact the Chief Examiner of IE units
