About our project

Children throw things away because “broken” feels final. It rarely is — a backpack with a failed zip is five working parts and one broken one. Circular Kids is a website that teaches children aged 10–14 to investigate an item before discarding it. They examine what is still good, identify what actually failed, judge its condition themselves, and explore what could happen next — keeping, repairing with an adult, reusing, donating or recycling. Safety guidance narrows the options, but the child makes the decision. Using open repair and product-safety data, it builds the reasoning to ask: does this really need to be thrown away yet?
