About our project

EmberHawk is an offline-first web app designed to help households who recently moved to the Dandenong and Yarra Ranges rehearse for bushfire season before they’ve lived through one. Users set up their address, download a local data capsule, and explore fire spread estimates, refuges, and route options entirely on-device, with no internet needed. It never shows live warnings or ranks evacuation routes, always deferring to CFA, SES and VicEmergency for real emergencies. EmberHawk turns official risk data into a practice run for households who don’t yet know what fire season in their area actually looks like.
