About our project

Herbaceous is a website that helps women in STEM move from receiving general career advice to receiving real advocacy from senior women in their field. Australian government data shows women hold only 17.4 percent of STEM qualifications and 36.5 percent of the STEM workforce, yet account for 39.9 percent of resignations. The problem is retention, not just pipeline. Herbaceous matches mentees to mentors on field, goals, availability and style, supports weekly check-ins that keep the relationship alive, and lets mentees request concrete advocacy such as referrals, introductions and nominations, turning guidance into visible opportunity.
