Bio-DataScope
TA01
Rediscover Biodiversity & "Lost" Species
About our project
Bio-DataScope is a web platform that helps Victoria’s environmental compliance teams, in mining, construction, and agriculture, spot the invisible gaps in biodiversity data. By integrating fragmented, geographically and temporally biased sources (ALA occurrences, EPBC threatened species, SNES mapped habitat and distribution data, and IBRA regions) into one unified database, Bio-DataScope reveals where species monitoring is thin or missing, rather than treating sparse data as evidence of absence. This turns raw environmental records into actionable insight, helping teams make better-informed, biodiversity-conscious decisions across Victoria.
