About our project
RootFinders is a voice-first walking app for vision impaired travellers in Melbourne. Speak a destination, and the app checks real City of Melbourne footpath, lighting, and safety data to offer a recommended option and a shortest option, each described aloud. Choose one by voice or gesture, and the app guides the traveller there with live spoken directions, start to finish, without needing to see a screen.
