SafeLane Twin
TE09
Digital Twin for Future Cities
About our project
SafeLane Twin is a 3D digital twin engineered to protect commercial food-delivery cyclists from severe urban hazards along Melbourne’s high-risk Chapel Street corridor. By integrating open government crash data, road geometry, and transit feeds, the platform transforms localized danger spots—such as car-dooring zones and tram-rail traps—into an explainable, segment-level risk model. Functioning strictly as a stationary pre-ride evaluation tool to eliminate moving screen distractions, it empowers riders to inspect corridor friction, test departure scenarios, and choose safer routes before pedaling.
