Culturally diverse health
About our project
Outdoor safety information in Australia is often scattered, technical, or written without diverse and multicultural communities in mind, leaving many families unsure how to prepare before visiting beaches or trails. TideWise is a website designed to help culturally diverse Australians make safer, more confident outdoor decisions by translating beach and bushwalking conditions, official warnings, and weather data into short, plain-language guidance. It provides a pre-visit checklist, real-time condition and hazard information, scenario-based practice with AI feedback, and prompts to revisit conditions before changes occur — reducing information overload while building practical safety knowledge for beach and trail visits across Victoria.
