Road safety for young people
About our project
Nextcross is a privacy-conscious Android app that helps young drivers and parents plan, review and discuss trips together. Before a trip, it presents relevant historical young-driver crash information and agreed trip conditions. With the young driver’s consent, it records trip-only location and driving events on the device rather than providing continuous live tracking. After the trip, it summarises the journey, explains recorded events such as hard acceleration and braking, and offers constructive AI-supported discussion prompts. The project aims to encourage safer driving conversations without surveillance or punishment.
