Ever thought about leaving Melbourne but had no idea where you’d actually go? Most people don’t get past that question, because comparing regional towns means trawling through dozens of websites and still not knowing if you’d be happy there. Life Beyond the City brings it all together. Pick a few towns, compare them with Melbourne on jobs, housing, schools, healthcare and lifestyle, then use our 2050 simulator to see how each place is likely to grow. It’s built on open government data, and it’s for anyone curious about what life could look like beyond the city.
