ShieldAhead

Shielding Crisis & Community Resilience
About our project
ShieldAhead is a progressive web app helping vulnerable, low-income households across Bendigo, Castlemaine, and Harcourt find nearby free Wi-Fi and support services for needs like food and financial hardship, and prepare for emergencies like bushfires and floods. It stores essential information on the device including a Crisis Pack of household contacts, medication notes, and evacuation needs so it stays accessible even without internet during a disaster. By combining live location-based search with saved offline data, ShieldAhead helps regional families stay connected, informed, and prepared before, during, and after a catastrophe strikes.
