About our project
Cool Change is an interactive web tool that helps Melbourne residents understand neighbourhood heat and tree canopy coverage. Users can search their area, view local heat and vegetation data, and explore how additional tree planting may improve future conditions. The project focuses on low-income residents, renters and households in outer suburbs who have limited ability to make property changes. It turns complex technical data into clear visual information that residents can use to understand heat risks and support requests for local cooling action.
