Age‑Friendly Australia
About our project
Age-Friendly Australia helps adults aged 65+ in Greater Melbourne discover local activities, essential services, and nearby public transport in one place. Many older adults struggle to find age-appropriate community events or navigate scattered service directories across councils and health providers. Our platform combines open government datasets (Eventfinda, Aged Care Service List, PTV GTFS) to surface relevant, verified activities and services, calculate walking distance to the nearest transport stop, and let users save items for later. Built with data transparency in mind, every listing shows exactly where its information came from — no invented details, ever.
