About our project and product
The Melbourne PC User Group (MelbPC) is a vibrant, not-for-profit technology community in Moorabbin, Victoria, established in 1984. It unites tech enthusiasts of all ages interested in computers, electronics, coding, and modern maker tools like 3D printers and Arduinos. Driven by the motto “Members Helping Members,” the group fosters friendly learning and collaboration through local and online Special Interest Groups (SIGs), hands-on workshops, talks, and public digital literacy programs. MelbPC is essentially a welcoming, social, and innovative hub for Melbourne’s curious minds to explore, build, and grow through technology.
This project’s goal is to modernize and integrate its core digital systems. We will achieve this by delivering three key outcomes: seamless CiviCRM Integration to automatically and accurately synchronize all member registrations and event participation data, ensuring high data integrity; Google Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing members to log in easily and securely using their organizational Google Account, which will enhance both authentication security and user access management; and the Migration of Existing Content To the new platform, ensuring all historical information is retained and accessible.
